The Geometry
of Tessera

From an architectural constraint
to a defining house motif.

01 / ORIGINS

It Began
with a Floor

During the restoration of an abandoned hotel, we inherited an expanse of polished blue stone that could not easily be removed or ignored. It was beautiful, but commanding — a permanent element around which everything else would have to find its place.

What initially felt like a limitation became an invitation to look more closely.

02 / INSPIRATION

Modernism
by the Sea

Modernism is often associated with restraint: white walls, hard lines and the removal of ornament. Along the Mediterranean, we found something more expansive. Geometry could be rigorous without feeling cold. Color could be vivid without becoming excessive. Pattern could coexist with disciplined architecture.

The dialogue between light, landscape and craft continues to inform Prince & Bond.

03 / FORM

The Making Of A
House Signature

We began dividing the form into two distinct halves and placing the line into repetition. The resulting geometry is simple, but recognisable: structured enough to create rhythm, yet fluid enough to avoid feeling rigid.

The Tessera motif brings movement, balance and rhythm to the collection.

04 / MATERIAL & MOVEMENT

A Print
with Purpose

Tessera is not intended to function simply as a print. It is a design system.

Its proportions can expand or contract, appearing across swim, shirting and ready-to-wear. It can be rendered in tonal variations or seasonal colours, while remaining true to its geometric foundation and architectural origins.
